What we call for
Working steward
Runs a department and works it at the same time. Keeps a crew moving, knows where the job is against the schedule, and still has hands on the gear.
Lead
Owns a room. Briefed off the run of show, answerable to the client contact, and responsible for everything that happens in that room from load in to strike.
What we look for
- Ready at callOn site before call time, in blacks, with your own basic tools. The first hour of a load in sets the tone for the whole day.
- An honest answerTell us what you have actually run. Nobody loses a place on the list for knowing where their line is, and everybody loses one for finding out at rehearsal.
- You pick upCall times move and rooms get added the night before. The people we lean on are the ones who answer and give a straight yes or no.
- You read the roomOn corporate work the client is standing behind you. Side conversation down, clean language on headset, a nervous presenter treated gently.
- Clean through strikeCases packed the way they arrived, cable coiled right, nothing left in the room.
